Sputnik Architecture was very excited for the opportunity to design the tenant fit-up for our new next-door neighbour, MoNUTs Café, creator a selection of healthy, plant-based, protein packed donuts. Sputnik worked closely with the owner to develop an efficient plan for the small unit, creating preparation, baking, sales, and washing areas that are both compact and functional, and also a seating area that invites customers to relax, converse, and enjoy their coffee and donut. The design details combine an industrial feel of concrete and metal with the natural warmth of wood and plant elements. As an extension of this new community-based shop, Sputnik worked with local fabricators to create the custom metal components for the millwork and shelving, as well as for the unique living wall features.
