This project provides a new front-of-house box office and concessions area for the Cinematheque that is secure, flexible, and visually engaging. Steel panels, designed to move like theatre curtains, can be raised or lowered as needed and are counterweighted for smooth, effortless operation. The patterned white panels add visual interest while also serving as a potential surface for projected film or lighting. The new box office and concessions improve accessibility, providing barrier-free access for both staff and patrons. A new concession window also creates a direct, barrier-free connection between the concessions and the theatre, allowing visitors to easily purchase popcorn and drinks without moving in and out of the theatre.
